Senior or Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Overview As an Infrastructure-focused Software Engineer, you design, build, and operate platform primitives that power AcuityMD’s applications. You work across engineering and production teams to boost reliability, security, and developer experience while evolving our cloud-based infrastructure. You’ll implement scalable container orchestration, service mesh, and secret management, and drive automation and observability to support rapid, safe product delivery. The role offers impact on mission-critical systems used by medtech customers and a chance to shape scalable infrastructure at a high-growth SaaS company. Compensation / Benefits Remote work Learning budget Home office stipend Flexible PTO100% paid health, dental, and vision plans Parental leave Responsibilities Steward core platform services: implement container orchestration, service mesh, ingress, and secrets management at scale Cross-functional partnership: collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and Security to deliver value Harden reliability: improve observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and automated remediation Automate everything: use infrastructure-as-code and configuration management for repeatable, auditable, secure systems Scale cost-effectively: optimize cluster utilization, autoscaling, and storage/networking Level-up developer experience: build internal tooling, templates, and golden paths to reduce cognitive load and time-to-first-deploy On-call & incident response: participate in on-call rotation, drive post-mortems, eliminate toil, and reduce MTTR via automation Enable fast, safe delivery: evolve CI/CD pipelines and environment strategies (dev/stage/prod) Key requirements 4+ years in software engineering focusing on infrastructure, Dev Ops, or platform engineering Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically Kubernetes Understanding of observability (metrics, logs, traces) and actionable alerts/SLOsFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code tools Some programming experience in at least one modern language Awareness of security fundamentals (IAM, workload identity, network policies, encryption, secrets management)Team-focused mindset and collaboration Clear communication and documentation Pragmatic problem-solving in fast-moving, high-ownership environments Kubernetes Observability tooling (metrics/logs/tracing)Infrastructure-as-code tools
