Software Engineer - Backend

Overview In this role you will build and maintain high-performance distributed systems that process telemetry data and support real-time storage. You will design scalable storage for large data streams and drive system reliability at scale. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs and help steer the backend technology direction, staying current with data engineering advances. Compensation / Benefits 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance Unlimited PTO and sick leave Free lunch, snacks, and coffee Professional Development Stipend Annual company retreat Responsibilities Build and maintain distributed systems for processing and storing telemetry and sensor data Design scalable storage solutions for large real-time datasets Improve system performance and reliability at scale Collaborate with engineers across the company to support customer needs Contribute to setting the backend technical direction and mentor early career engineers Keep abreast of new data engineering developments and apply useful advancements Key requirements 4+ years building and maintaining distributed systems Proficiency in Java, Go, or Rust Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform Knowledge of storage solutions (Parquet, Druid, InfluxDB, Click House, TimescaleDB) and real-time telemetry Familiarity with Apache Arrow, Kafka, Spark, or Flink and distributed databases Strong communication skills to explain ideas to technical and non-technical audiences_clear communicationability to collaborate across functionsproblem-solving mindset Java, Go, or RustAWS/Azure/GCPDocker
