Role Description:
The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Petaluma, CA. This position oversees day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives for clinical and non-clinical staff. The Human Resources Manager administers employee relations, performance management processes, and disciplinary actions, ensuring consistent application of company policies and employment laws. The role includes managing benefits and leave administration, maintaining HR records, and supporting payroll coordination in collaboration with finance. The Human Resources Manager will also lead training and development programs, support leadership with workforce planning, and contribute to building an inclusive, compliant, and engaging workplace culture.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated skills in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management. Experience with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention strategies for diverse teams. Knowledge of HR compliance, employment law, and policy development, preferably in healthcare or long-term care. Ability to manage benefits administration, leaves of absence, and HR recordkeeping with strong attention to detail. Proficiency with HRIS systems, basic payroll processes, and Microsoft Office or similar tools. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for working with staff, leadership, and external partners. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain high ethical standards. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; relevant HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred. Experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, or healthcare services is highly beneficial.
