Java Engineer

Overview In this role you will help shape Priceline’s backend evolution by delivering high-throughput, low-latency services. You’ll work in a cross-functional, agile team that collaborates with business leaders to advance the product roadmap. Expect to tackle real-time data queries and scalable REST APIs used across millions of searches daily. Compensation / Benefitshybrid work modelmedical, dental, visionmental health resourcesgenerous time off and volunteer daysflexible work locationretirement plans with company contributions Responsibilities Contribute to critical projects impacting Priceline’s business evolution Collaborate in a cross-functional agile team delivering new product objectives Develop core Java-based backend services with a focus on low latency and high throughput Build and query data via SQL for real-time analysis from applications Understand codebase and business requirements to implement changes Engage in team discussions, advocate for strong solutions, and communicate respectfully Key requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience 5+ years of software engineering experience Proficiency in Core Java or similar languages Strong SQL querying and data analysis capabilities Experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services, and APIsServer-side Java Script and Node.js experience; Git and Gitflow Experience with Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker Cloud development experience, especially GCP and AWSDemonstrated integrity and value-aligned with Priceline principlescollaborationclear communicationownership and accountability Core JavaSQLSpring Frameworks
