Design Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.• Reads and plots erection details and drawings using 3-D modeling software.• Creates shop cards by utilizing 3-D modeling programs, such as Solid Works, and ensures drawings conform to standard detailing.• Presents scrubbed shop cards to Project Lead for their verification of correctness• Scrubs red-lines from Project Lead check prints.• Details Steel Cards from sketches or markups provided by Project Designers or Design Engineers using 3-D modeling software.• May have access to confidential information.• Makes independent decisions pertaining to interpretation and rendering of drawings.• Has daily contact with fellow employees in other units in the company, top management, customers, vendors/suppliers. Qualifications: Certificates, Licenses, Registration: training and/or certification in Solid Works/Structure Works.

Education: Design/ Drafting related Associate's Degree (2 year) is preferred.

Experience: Related work experience may considered in lieu of a degree. Some previous design/drafting experience is preferred.
