Transit Technologies is a growing transportation technology company bringing together approximately 10 specialized business units and a broad portfolio of software and technology solutions serving public transit, transportation, mobility, healthcare, and related markets. As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll play an important role in that growth. You'll help introduce organizations to solutions that improve operations, solve business challenges, and support the communities they serve. This opportunity is designed for someone with some sales or customer-facing experience who is ready to take the next step into professional technology sales. You'll learn how to prospect into complex organizations, engage decision-makers, uncover business needs, position technology solutions, and create qualified opportunities for experienced sales professionals. You'll be aligned primarily with a specific business unit or solution based on company priorities. This allows you to develop meaningful product and industry expertise while gaining exposure to the broader Transit Technologies portfolio. This is more than a role focused on making calls. What You'll Do: Create Conversations That Lead to Growth Generate new sales opportunities through consistent outbound prospecting across phone, email, Linked In, conferences, and other channels. Research target organizations, identify key decision-makers, and develop thoughtful outreach strategies that lead with customer needs. Start meaningful conversations with prospective customers, uncover business challenges, qualify interest, and schedule meetings for the appropriate sales team. Take ownership of follow-up and continually look for new ways to create conversations and qualified opportunities. Build Technology & Industry Expertise Develop a strong understanding of your assigned business unit, its customers, and its technology solutions. Build familiarity with the broader Transit Technologies portfolio and how our solutions address different market needs. Participate in prospect and customer meetings to develop your industry knowledge, product understanding, presentation skills, and sales experience. Continue building your knowledge through product, industry, technology, and professional sales training. Partner With Experienced Sales Professionals Work closely with Enterprise Sales Managers, sales leadership, Marketing, and internal subject matter experts to support targeted campaigns and business development initiatives. Collaborate with sales partners to ensure qualified opportunities are properly transitioned and followed through. Learn how complex technology sales cycles work, from initial prospecting and discovery through solution discussions and customer engagement. Build a Strong Sales Foundation Maintain accurate prospect activity, contact information, notes, follow-up tasks, and opportunities within Salesforce. Consistently work toward defined activity, qualified-meeting, and pipeline-generation goals. Manage your time, prioritize outreach, and maintain disciplined follow-through across your prospecting activities. Use coaching, feedback, and performance data to improve your approach and results. What You'll Bring: Required Previous experience in sales, business development, lead generation, customer-facing work, or a similar professional environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Confidence speaking on the phone and engaging with new people. Ability to communicate professionally with customers and senior-level decision-makers. Strong organization, time management, and follow-up skills. Comfort learning new technology, software applications, and industry concepts. Competitive mindset and desire to achieve measurable goals. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Preferred Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce. Experience in B2B sales, business development, inside sales, or SaaS.Experience conducting prospect research or outbound outreach. Experience presenting ideas or leading customer conversations.
