My Client is looking for a Azure .NET Developer in Des Moines- IA. Details below, If interested please respond with your updated resume. Des Moines, IA (Hybrid)- (Client preference: Local candidates or candidates near the IA area.) 6 to 9 months Contract with a possibility of extension Looking for Senior Azure Developer Contractor to support ongoing development of cloud based Enterprise Integration Services technologies. This role will be deeply embedded in the Integration Services team and will focus on designing and building Azure native solutions utilizing Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management, C#/.NET, and modern API design principles. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly understand our architecture, contribute to solution design, and deliver high quality Azure components in a fast paced environment.
Required Experience:
5+ years professional experience developing in C#/.NET3–5 years hands on experience with Azure cloud services, including:
- Azure Functions
- Azure Service Bus (queues/topics/subscriptions)
- Azure API Management (APIM)o Proven experience in designing, building, and deploying RESTful APIso Strong background with serverless development and event driven architectureso Experience building secure APIs including authentication, authorization, and token engagement
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET 6/7+
- Deep understanding of API best practices, request/response modeling, error handling, and versioning
- Hands on experience with Azure resource configuration, policies, and integrations
- Familiarity with OAuth2.0, JWT, managed identities, and other authentication patterns
- Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills across distributed systems
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable Azure based data products
- Build, configure, and manage Azure Functions (HTTP triggered, queue triggered)
- Implement and support Azure Service Bus messaging patterns (topics/queues)
- Stand up, configure, and enhance Azure API Management (APIM) instances and APIs
- Collaborate with architects and product owners to define technical designs and API specifications
- Develop robust and reusable C#/.NET components aligned with modern engineering patterns
- Ensure API consistency, versioning strategy, and adherence to RESTful standards
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing Azure components and integrations
- Contribute to best practices for Azure development, DevOps, and API lifecycle management
