About the role

Your New Company Join a well-established federal contractor headquartered in the Washington, DC metro area that specializes in design-build, general contracting, construction management, renovations, MEP upgrades, roofing, site construction, and tenant improvement projects. This growing organization delivers work for federal agencies across the East Coast, with a strong presence on U.S. Navy and military installations throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond. With a collaborative leadership team and a healthy project pipeline extending several years into the future, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering impactful federal construction projects. Your New RoleAs Project Manager, you will take ownership of federal construction projects from award through closeout, leading all aspects of project execution including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, procurement, contract administration, and client communications. One of the immediate priorities will be supporting a major long-term design-build project valued at approximately $10M, with periodic site visits required. You will work closely with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and government representatives to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with contract requirements. Responsibilities include managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, buyouts, project schedules, cost controls, progress meetings, documentation, and project closeout activities while maintaining strong relationships with all project stakeholders. What You'll Need to Succeed 5+ years of experience managing federal government construction projects Strong understanding of federal contracting procedures and project delivery Experience with NAVFAC projects highly preferred Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and project teams Experience overseeing the full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, buyouts, change orders, project documentation, and cost control Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to coordinate with owners, government representatives, consultants, and field personnelU.S. Citizenship required Ability to pass background screening requirements and obtain military base access What You'll Get in ReturnBase salary of $100,000-$140,000, dependent on experience 401(k) with employer match Medical and dental benefits Paid federal holidays, PTO, and sick leave Monthly phone allowance Mileage reimbursement and per diem for project-related travel Opportunity to manage high-profile federal design-build and military projects Long-term project backlog offering stability and career growth
