Assignment Requirements:
- Perform IP network device upgrades, review existing design and implement required changes
- Review current design and build new configuration with upgrade requirement
- Assemble, configure, install, and dispose of Cisco routers and switches following existing configuration standards and procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting when necessary to remediate issues in a timely manner.
- Utilize a work management system for task coordination, scheduling, and obtaining installation approvals.
- Schedule outages with business owners as required.
- Manage tasks and provide periodic status updates and progress reports as necessary.
Experience
Required:
- Network Design and Management: Expertise in network design, management, detailed documentation, testing, problem analysis, and formulating scope and objectives for system changes.
- Technical Knowledge and Hands-On Experience: Cisco ASR/ISR routers (EIGRP, HSRP, OSPF, etc.) and Cisco Catalyst switches
- Cisco Layer 2 protocols and configurations
- Network security best practices
- Determining network requirements, developing designs, selecting equipment, and creating Bills of Materials
- Datacenter experience
- Addressing Layer 2 and physical layer issues in both copper and fiber infrastructures
