Principal Software Developer

Overview As a Principal Software Developer, you design, build, and refine software across product lifecycles, guiding code quality and performance. You’ll learn the codebase, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers to raise development standards. You act as a hands-on technical leader, shaping solutions that scale in a complex, large‑scale environment. Compensation / Benefitscompetitive total compensationflexible/remote workinclusive, collaborative cultureleadership support Responsibilities Design, develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain software programs and components for new and existing products Modify software to fix issues, adapt to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance Research, design, develop, and test complex scripts Review requirements and perform gap analysis on source data Maintain software and provide updates addressing customer and company needs Analyze and test programs before launch Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software with business goals Identify opportunities to improve software quality, system performance, and development processes Support and mentor team members and leaders to achieve department goals Key requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's preferred 8+ years of software development experience including design, coding, testing, debugging, and support Strong foundation in Java, Unix/Linux, shell scripting, SQL, and PL/SQLExperience with Java, PL/SQL, SQL, C#, or similar languages; Oracle and/or PostgreSQL in large-scale environments; Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting Experience with Apache Tomcat and API development Extensive functional testing and debugging skills Experience developing reusable shared components and frameworks in Linux environments Knowledge of basic database administration, and familiarity with transaction rating and invoicing systems is a plus Knowledge of telecommunication protocols is a plus Mentoring and coaching Analytical thinking and problem-solving Collaborative cross-functional teamwork JavaPL/SQLSQL
