Department: COM | Otolaryngology Nursing Services Summary of
Job Duties: Responsibilities include gathering and evaluating perinatal and medical histories, diagnostic test results, physical examination findings, and behavioral, developmental, and psychosocial assessments. Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings across all body systems. Apply critical thinking and the nursing process to identify the patient's and family's short- and long-term physical, psychological, educational, and cultural needs. Provide ongoing and follow-up care, including patient and family education. Interpret health assessment data and use clinical findings to guide patient care. Develop short- and long-term care plans, including appropriate pharmacologic and diagnostic treatments. Document health information, care plans, and services according to established policies. Evaluate the patient's and family's response to the plan of care through systematic follow-up. Document outcomes, reassess progress, and modify care plans as needed to achieve established health goals. Accurately complete billing documentation, including diagnostic and treatment codes, in compliance with federal and state regulations. Communicate and collaborate with referring physicians, allied health professionals, and hospital staff. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing PLUS two (2) years of nursing experience Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas Current Arkansas APRN/CPN license National certification in Pediatric Acute Care or Pediatric Primary Care Current Basic Life Support certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment Ability to safely operate nursing equipment essential to the role, including scales, procedural equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines
