Application Engineer III - Integration

Location: Texas (preferred: San Antonio or Houston; flexible statewide)

Duration: Long-term contract

Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Application Engineer III - Integration to join our team and drive enterprise-level integration initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in building, debugging, and optimizing complex interconnected systems, with a strong focus on APIs, messaging, and middleware. The ideal candidate will operate at a senior engineer level, balancing hands-on technical work with system-level testing and validation in highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and support enterprise integrations across APIs, messaging systems, and middleware. Work with message queue technologies (MQ/MQS or similar) to ensure reliable data flow. Debug and troubleshoot issues across distributed, interconnected systems (e.g., ESP, NuSoft, or similar platforms).Perform integration and system-level testing to validate end-to-end data lifecycle. Identify and resolve issues across multiple systems with a strong QA mindset. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance with standards. Operate in environments where engineers are responsible for both development and testing.

Technical Expertise: Strong background in enterprise integrations (API, messaging, middleware).Hands-on experience with message queue technologies (MQ/MQS or similar).Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs, data validation, and transformation. Proficiency in SQL and database querying. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across distributed systems.

Testing & QA Mindset: Proven ability to perform integration and system-level testing. Experience validating full data lifecycle end-to-end. Ability to identify issues across multiple interconnected systems. Experience Level 7-10+ years of professional engineering experience. Prior experience operating at a senior or lead engineer level. Background in financial services or other highly regulated industries is a plus.
