Groundskeeper Lead

General ResponsibilitiesThe Groundskeeper Lead reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities and supervises the Grounds staff while performing regular groundskeeping duties. This position is responsible for maintaining the safety and appearance of campus lawns, landscaped areas, planters, and irrigation systems. Specific ResponsibilitiesOversees, schedules, and assigns daily work to the Grounds staffTrains staff in the safe and proper use of groundskeeping equipmentMows and edges lawns; trims shrubs; pulls weeds; and maintains landscaped areas and plantersMaintains and performs minor repairs to irrigation systemsKeeps gutters, downspouts, drain grates, and outdoor areas clear of debrisEnsures staff use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow safety proceduresAssists with campus event setups, tear-downs, and other Facilities projectsReports maintenance and safety concerns to the Assistant Director of FacilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. The position regularly requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing ladders and stairs, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. Work is primarily performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
