Summary
Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in applied microeconomics, withparticular interest in candidates working in health economics; toteach courses at the undergraduate and Master’s level; to publishoriginal high-quality research; to advise students; and to engagein service. Multiple positions available.
Job Description:
The Department of Economics at Miami University invitesapplications for two tenure-track assistant professor positions. Duties include teaching courses at the undergraduate and Master’slevel, publishing original high-quality research, advisingstudents, and engaging in service.
The Department of Economics, which is in the Farmer School of Business, has approximately 500 undergraduate majors and 15students in its Master’s of Economics program. High qualityteaching and research are both valued in the department, which iscomposed of approximately 25 tenured/tenure-track, teaching, andvisiting faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
Ph. D. in economics or related discipline by date ofappointment.
Consideration will be given to candidates with research interestsin applied microeconomics and especially health economics.

Submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement, evidence of teaching performance (if available), and researchsample to the AEA's job application system and to Miami. Theteaching statement should address how the candidate fostersclassroom engagement with respect to student background andlearning style.
