Lead Speech-Language Pathologist

Encompass Health seeks a Speech Therapy Team Leader to guide a team of SLPs in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. In this role, you will provide direct assessment and treatment for patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders while coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team. You will mentor clinicians, support evidence-based practice, and ensure high-quality documentation and regulatory compliance. Lead and coordinate a team of speech-language pathologists in an inpatient rehabilitation setting Provide direct evaluation and treatment of patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders Develop and oversee individualized care plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary rehab team Ensure clinical quality, documentation accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards Mentor, train, and support staff in evidence-based speech therapy practices and professional development Participate in family education, discharge planning, and communication with physicians and care partners Monitor caseloads, scheduling, and productivity to support timely, patient-centered care Contribute to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and outcome tracking Speech-language pathology evaluation and treatment Dysphagia assessment and management Neurogenic communication disorder management Care planning and clinical documentation Interdisciplinary team collaboration Staff supervision and mentoring Rehabilitation outcome measurement Regulatory and accreditation compliance Patient and family education Time management and caseload coordination Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Experience in inpatient rehab, neuro, or medically complex populations preferred Leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting preferred
