Boring Mill Operator

Large Boring Machine Operator Responsible for setting up and operating large boring machines. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics to determine the sequence of machining operations. Select, mount, and secure cutting tools and workpieces. Set machine parameters such as feeds, speeds, and depth. Inspect finished workpieces using precision measuring to ensure compliance with blueprint tolerances. Maintain a clean workspace, perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment, and adhere to strict shop safety protocols. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. A strong grasp of applied shop math. Education and/or Experience Usually 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in manual or CNC machining. Strong ability to read blueprints and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
