Job Description
Summary:
Client’s Aerospace Group has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer. The plant manufactures pressure sensors for a wide variety of commercial, military &space applications. The position of Quality Engineer requires the ability to work and understand all aspects of themanufacturing process. The QE requires input from the bid review/order entry process, supplieroversight, production planning, parts procurement, manufacturing and test, final acceptance, softwareanalysis, and corrective action analysis, and customer support.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of qualitystandards and systems for processing materials into product.· Develop and initiate methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation.· Interface with suppliers and external customers to resolve product issues.· Devise procedures, forms, methods for recording and evaluating quality data.· Develop and implement methods and procedures to disposition and assess costof discrepant material.· Provide quality technical assistance to internal and external customers and suppliers.· Work with employees engaged in measuring and testing product and recording quality andreliability data.· Compile and generate training material and conduct training sessions on quality activities.· Conduct Supplier control activities including purchase order review, resolution of non-conformingproducts from suppliers, and review of corrective action responses from suppliers.· Perform Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including scrap material processing.· Act as liaison with customers and governmental agencies, such as the FAA and DCMA in regardto quality activities.· Participate in internal and external control and review activities such as internal audits & productaudits including customer reviews.· Respond to customer requests for information and coordinate activities of FAA certified Repair Station.· Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Competencies:
- Ability to understand technical data· Knowledge of measurement systems· Understanding of statistics and root cause analysis
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required.· Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technical role.· Must be eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship.· This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within themeaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e.‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (preferred but not required).· Aerospace, medical, or other highly regulated industry experience
