Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists to join our team. The ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise in providing high-quality respiratory therapy in both adult ICU and NICU settings. This role requires working 12-hour shifts over weekends and rotating holidays.
Responsibilities:
Administer respiratory therapy treatments and modalities as per physician orders.
Monitor and assess patient's respiratory status and adjust treatments accordingly.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
Utilize advanced respiratory equipment and technology, including Hamilton and Drager ventilators, Airvo, Vapotherm, BiPAP, and CPAP devices.
Perform arterial blood gas analysis and interpret results to inform clinical decisions.
Engage in patient/family education regarding respiratory care and home therapies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 15 months of experience in a hospital respiratory care setting.
Recent experience in providing care to NICU patients.
Proficiency in using EPIC electronic medical records.
Active certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).Current BLS and ACLS certifications. NRP certification required.
Active Iowa respiratory license preferred; candidates with an active license in process will also be considered.
Experience with respiratory equipment, including Airvo, Hamilton, Drager, and Vapotherm.
Additional Requirements:
Completion of a skills checklist reflecting current practices in Respiratory Therapy.
Professional reference from a charge/supervisor or nurse manager within the past 24 months. A valid driver's license.
Documentation of all required certifications and licenses.
Work Schedule:
- This position involves working three 12-hour shifts each week, with a focus on weekends. Employees may be required to work on one or two of the upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed.
