About the role

Process Technology Instructor This is a 9-month, full-time position. Instructors may be assigned classes at any of the four River Parishes Community College campuses (Gonzales, Reserve, Plaquemine, and St. Charles), as determined by student need and institutional demand. Teaching needs may include face-to-face/online and/or evening classes. Full-time faculty are expected to actively serve on campus committees, participate in campus activities, and participate in student advising and recruitment.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in process technology (official transcripts must be submitted) or ten years field experience in process technology. Current knowledge of industrial safety practices. Satisfactory background check – an offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check. Previous teaching experience preferred. Job Duties and Other Information
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, deliver, revise, and teach Process Technology courses.
  • Meet College deadlines for attendance taking, grade submission, learning outcomes assessment reporting, and textbook adoptions.
  • Serve on campus committees.
  • Advise students.
  • Assist with student recruitment efforts.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly lab environment.
  • Maintain lab equipment and inventory.
  • Collaborate with business & industry partners to improve the Process Technology program.
  • Consult with other College faculty and staff on issues relevant to student success.
  • Monitor and document student performance.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the River Parishes Community College Mission
