About the role

Overview: In this role you ensure inventory reporting integrity and financial accuracy across store operations. You will reconcile physical counts with ledgers and support adjustments to maintain correct financial records. You collaborate with Store Operations, Asset Protection, and Finance teams to investigate discrepancies and improve reconciliation processes. Your work enables reliable inventory data that underpins reporting and decision making. This position offers hands-on impact in a dynamic retail environment with opportunities to grow in accounting and process optimization. Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile 200+ physical inventory counts to General Ledger and Retail Stock Ledger per period
  • Review inventory results for accuracy and completeness
  • Validate open-period book inventory cutoffs for financial reporting
  • Process adjustments related to markdowns, transfers, and other book transactions
  • Prepare journal entries to correct inventory discrepancies
  • Analyze inventory results to identify discrepancies and trends
  • Research and document variances to support accurate records
  • Support Inventory Control Supervisor with research and reconciliation activities
  • Collaborate with Store and District Managers to ensure proper procedures and documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes and reporting efficiency
  • Assist with special projects and maintain inventory workpapers
Key requirements:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with Lawson General Ledger (GL) or a comparable system
  • Ability to write and execute data queries for analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated, independent, able to manage multiple prioritiesattention to detailanalytical mindseteffective communicator
