Integrated Healthcare Services is seeking a local contract Ultrasound Technologist for a local contract job in New York, New York. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Ultrasound Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 9 weeks 37.5 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Local Contract Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist, Reg, 0-2 yrs - Contract Job Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist performs or assists in ultrasound examinations, renders technical assistance to the Radiologist, and maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment. This role involves preparing and examining patients, operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment, analyzing sonographic findings, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment. The technologist will also assist in mentoring new personnel and may handle administrative tasks such as scheduling examinations and answering telephones.
Required Qualifications:
• Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) • High school graduate • 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) • Knowledge of office and administrative practices • Skill in the use of personal computers and software • Ability to problem solve and make decisions • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in mentoring and orienting new personnel Additional Information: • The role requires the ability to operate and adjust ultrasound equipment, clean and make minor adjustments, and report malfunctions. • The technologist must use independent professional judgment to optimize exam results and ensure patient safety. • Responsibilities include recording diagnostic images and data, providing oral summaries of preliminary findings, and notifying healthcare providers when immediate medical attention is needed. • The position involves maintaining adequate supplies and a clean working environment.
