Associate Attorney

Overview Employer Solutions Law is a growing law firm serving Washington employers. Over the past five years, we have expanded our practice, grown our team, and opened a second office in Eastern Washington. We are looking for an experienced Attorney to join us and help employers navigate workplace challenges with practical, business-focused legal advice and effective advocacy. You'll work directly with clients and collaborate with attorneys and paralegals on employment law, workers' compensation, wage and hour claims, workplace safety, litigation, investigations, policy development, and employer training. You'll build client relationships and take ownership of substantive legal work. We offer flexibility in how the role is structured, with an annual billable expectation of 1,250–1,600 hours. The specific expectation and corresponding compensation are determined during the hiring process, allowing us to structure the role around both the attorney and the firm's needs. Responsibilities Advise and represent Washington employers on workplace, regulatory, and employment-related matters. Provide practical, employer-focused counsel that considers both legal requirements and business operations. Independently evaluate and manage matters, develop legal strategy, and advise clients on risk and next steps. Draft and review pleadings, discovery, memoranda, correspondence, policies, and other legal documents. Represent employers in administrative proceedings, hearings, negotiations, and trials. Proactively manage matters, communicate significant developments, and identify issues requiring escalation. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide responsive, practical service to clients. Meet an annual billable hour expectation of 1,250–1,600 hours, with the specific expectation and corresponding compensation determined during the hiring process. Stay current on developments affecting Washington employers. Experience Five or more years of experience practicing law. Experience advising or representing employers, businesses, or organizations is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to independently manage matters and provide practical advice directly to clients. Experience working with government agencies, administrative proceedings, or regulatory matters. Workers’ compensation, WISHA/OSHA, or employment law experience is preferred but not required. Experience developing or delivering client trainings, webinars, or professional presentations is preferred. QualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Washington State. Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Sound judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with the practical realities employers face. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients, opposing counsel, agencies, courts, third-party administrators, and colleagues.
