Databricks Cloud Platform Architect

Job Title: AWS Databricks Cloud Platform Architect Location: Remote/Indianapolis, IN

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Architect to design and lead secure, scalable, enterprise-grade cloud and data-platform solutions with a strong focus on AWS and Databricks. The role combines architecture leadership, hands-on technical depth, platform modernization, governance, security, and stakeholder management across complex enterprise environments. Must Have (Required) 1. Databricks on AWS Enterprise Architecture o Led multiple Databricks implementations on AWS. o Experience operating in a large, regulated enterprise environment. o Deep expertise working in an enterprise environment containing multiple Databricks workspaces. 2. Databricks Platform Foundation Experience o Established governance, security, workspace, catalog, and data-sharing standards. o Built reusable platform accelerators, patterns/reference architectures, and engineering guardrails. o Strong Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and enterprise governance expertise. 3. Migration Experience o Proven delivery of migrations from:  AWS Glue → Databricks  Aurora PostgreSQL → Databricks  AWS data lake platforms → Databricks Lakehouse o Experience modernizing ETL frameworks, pipelines, and operational processes during migration. 4. Hands-On Technical Skills o Databricks Workflows o Spark/PySpark/Declarative Pipelines o Delta Lake o SQL Warehouses o CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code o AWS S3, IAM, networking, and security controls Strongly Preferred 5.Governance & Compliance o Experience implementing RBAC/ABAC and data governance controls. o Background supporting audit, privacy, security, or compliance requirements in regulated industries. 6.Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences Experience o Experience working in Pharma, Biotech, Healthcare, or similarly regulated industries. o Familiarity with GxP and validated systems.
