Senior Software Engineer (C++/Qt/Linux)-Medical Device
Location: Remote
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a leading medical device organization developing innovative robotics and enabling technologies. In this role, you will develop foundational software components used across pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative clinical applications. This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring strong technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions while ensuring software meets functional requirements, technical specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about building reliable software that supports cutting-edge medical technology.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain shared software components using C++ and Qt in a Linux environment. Build reusable data management components that integrate across multiple clinical software applications. Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including: Code reviews, documentation, integration, unit testing, defect resolution, code analysis. Ensure software components meet functional requirements, design specifications, and quality standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, remove blockers, and deliver project milestones. Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and progress updates. Present project updates and milestone achievements as needed.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of professional software engineering experience. Strong experience developing applications in C++.Experience with the Qt framework. Professional experience developing in a Linux environment. Experience with Python scripting and automation. Working knowledge of SQL and SQLite. Experience designing and managing data models, schemas, and database architecture. Familiarity with data serialization formats such as JSON.Experience using version control systems (Git or similar).Knowledge of CI/CD development practices. Experience writing and maintaining unit tests. Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with robotics or medical device software. Knowledge of 3D geometry, visualization, or graphics development. Experience with CAD modeling or mesh processing. Experience developing reusable software components for complex engineering applications.
