Food Service Aide

Educational Requirements: High school or equivalent required. Knowledge of proper body mechanics desirable. Must have the ability to read, write, and follow instructions both verbally and written; Requires knowledge of and skills to operate kitchen equipment and the effective use of cleaning agents; knowledge of customer relations desirable; must have knowledge of emergency procedures, particularly in the event of a fire; knowledge of Health Department Standards required.

Experience Requirements: Previous food service experience helpful; Hospital/health care setting preferred.

Physical Requirements: Work is inside and requires considerable standing and walking in and about the department; some lifting, stooping, bending as required to perform duties; must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to meet deadlines; must be able to understand and follow instructions; may be required to work evenings/weekends/holidays to meet staffing needs; must have home telephone; exposure to hot plates and possible wet floors.
