About the Role:
As a Crew Member in the Specialized Park Services unit, you will: Install, maintain, and repair City-owned playground equipment. Conduct periodic safety inspections of playgrounds and parks. Deliver, set up, and take down portable stages for events. Assist with special event setups, including moving bleachers and installing barricades. Install and repair fences, replace worn sports and playground equipment, and move office furniture. Ensure high levels of customer service and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Work outside in all weather conditions, including during inclement weather events. Be considered "Service Critical," which may require assisting with storm damage cleanup and special events. This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Qualifications
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED.Valid driver's license. Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).Experience with mechanical work and/or carpentry.
Preferred Qualifications:
CDL Class A driver's license (required within 120 days of employment).Certification from the National Playground Safety Institute. Experience installing and repairing playground equipment. North Carolina Pesticide License Class E & L (required within 1 year of employment).Experience moving office furniture.
