Family Matters Care Consultants is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team in a full-time, remote capacity. This role is pivotal for providing specialized mental health care to individuals affected by trauma, particularly those facing struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient's trauma history and develop tailored treatment strategies. Create and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize short- and long-term trauma recovery and resilience-building techniques. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to provide a supportive space for patients as they process their trauma and develop effective coping strategies. Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to offer integrated care that addresses both mental and physical health. Deliver crisis intervention support during emergencies related to trauma, ensuring immediate care for patients in distress. Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and resources available to aid their recovery journey. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation, adhering to both legal and ethical standards in practice. Participate in case consultations and team meetings to discuss patient progress, share insights, and continue professional development in trauma-informed care. Stay current with the latest research and emerging best practices in trauma therapy to enhance the quality of care provided. Patient Population / Client FocusFamily Matters Care Consultants is dedicated to serving individuals who have experienced significant trauma. Our focus lies primarily on those with PTSD, complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders, which require specialized therapeutic approaches tailored to each client's unique experiences. You will engage with diverse client backgrounds, making it imperative to approach each case with cultural sensitivity and empathy.
Qualifications:
A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
Strong knowledge and understanding of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed treatment modalities, and resilience-building techniques.
Preferred Experience:
While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with a strong background in trauma-focused therapies will be prioritized. Experience in providing clinical supervision or mentorship is a bonus, as it enriches our collaborative environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
