RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLEROversee the activities of the accounting department to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of financial statements and management reports. Oversee disbursement activities, including wire transfers. Oversee compliance with loan agreements. Oversee compliance with the financial reporting. Prepare annual budgets. Work with external income tax professionals. Establish and maintain systems and internal controls. Respond to the CEO and CFO as requested on special projects. Provide leadership to and ongoing development of staff. Manage employee benefits and payroll relationships. Manage all aspects of the QuickBooks accounting system. Accurately account for the investments and intercompany transactions. Communicate with others courteously and professionally. Adhere to all regulations, policies, and procedures. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTROLLERBachelor’s degree in accounting. Advanced degree preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA).6+ years of progressive accounting experience including at least 2 years in public accounting. Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills. Financial analysis and cash management preferred. QuickBooks experience a plus. Real estate experience a plus but not required. Outstanding attention to detail and highly organized. Self-starter who takes ownership of responsibilities with minimal supervision. Ability to build strong relationships with co-workers, outside consultants, and others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Stable job record. Highest level of integrity. Team player. Target salary range: $130,000 - $160,000 DOE.
