Lead Software Engineer

Overview In this role you will own backend Java services supporting Disney’s guest experiences, collaborating across teams to deliver scalable, reliable software. You’ll lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive quality from coding to deployment. You contribute to high-impact products like MyDisney Experience and related ticketing and reservations initiatives. You work in a fast-paced, agile environment to enable world-class digital and physical guest experiences. Compensation / Benefitsbonus and/or long-term incentive unitsmedical benefitsfinancial benefitsprofessional developmentbenefits vary by level/regionfull range of medical and financial benefits Responsibilities End-to-end ownership of backend Java services from ideation to launch and monitoring Lead design reviews, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive quality and stability Mentor junior engineers and set engineering standards Develop, review, and optimize complex code and reference implementations Own analysis, design, debugging, and improvements of software across local/cloud environments Lead projects for commercial/end-user applications or infrastructure tools Engage with users to define system requirements and plan highly scalable projects Stay current with emerging technologies to inform recommendations Key requirements 7+ years of backend development in large enterprise environments using Java, Docker, Spring Ability to work in an agile environment Strong leadership and motivation of teams, fostering creativity Commitment to diversity and inclusive culture Familiarity with required technologies and desire to develop data engineering skillsAWS managed services design/implementation experience Experience with AWS services: ECS, S3, Lambda, RDSStrong knowledge of design patterns and data structures Experience with relational databases and NoSQL data stores Interest in open source technologies Good communication and mentoring skillsleadershipmentoringcollaboration Java Docker Spring Framework
