Office/School Secretary, Migrant Head Start Programs (MHSP) The job of Office/School Secretary, Migrant Head Start Programs (MHSP) is done for the purpose(s) of providing secretarial duties to support assigned administrative personnel; communicating information to staff, students, the public, and other districts; ensuring compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements; providing information and/or direction as may be requested and utilizing oral and written bilingual skills in English and Spanish. This position is categorically funded. Bilingual Stipend (upon completion of bilingual certification) Requirements / Qualifications Job related experience is required. One year of experience in clerical and/or secretarial work including experience in typing reports and general office correspondence, making arrangements for meetings and travel and performing other clerical/secretarial duties for management staff. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid California driver's license required upon hire. Position duties will require frequent driving throughout County. Ability to obtain bilingual certification within five months of hire (English and Spanish). Bilingual Stipend (upon completion of bilingual certification) Submitted applications will be screened for minimum qualifications. Letters without author's signature, name and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the recruitment closing date will not be accepted. One letter from a supervisor is preferred) Resume (Employment information on Resume must be current and consistent with the employment information on the EdJoin application/Record of Work Experience) Typing Certificate (Minimum Required Typing Speed is 45 net words per minute. Certificate must be verifiable and must show your name and be dated within the last 12 months prior to the recruitment closing date) These documents are required upon hire: Valid CA Driver's License (if required), physical (if required), proof of immunizations and/or exemptions as required by state regulations (including but not limited to measles, pertussis, and influenza) (if required), proof of required education, TB, Fingerprint clearance, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required as per Public Health Order.
