Job Details: Location: Puerto Rico, PR 00791. Position Type: Full‑time Temporary. Salary Range: $33.00 – $38.00 hourly. Job Category: Operational/Non‑ERD. Job Title: General Foreman. About Ceres Caribe: Founded in Puerto Rico in 1998 after Hurricane Georges, Ceres Caribe has grown to become one of the largest employers on the island. The company specializes in disaster recovery, debris removal, demolition, and hard roofing, and provides resilience services such as vegetation management and utility line clearing for Puerto Rico’s power grid. Ceres Caribe also develops natural parks and an aviary center and is expanding its efforts to secure the island’s power grid.
What We Are Looking For: The General Foreman leads and directs multiple field crews performing utility vegetation management, right‑of‑way maintenance, tree trimming, damage assessment, and related operations. The role requires ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
What You Will Do: Lead, supervise, and support multiple field crews engaged in utility vegetation management and right‑of‑way operations. Plan, organize, and coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Monitor productivity, quality, staffing levels, and operational performance across assigned territories. Conduct field inspections, job site audits, and safety observations to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements. Promote and enforce OSHA, ANSI, company safety policies, and utility industry best practices. Train, mentor, and develop Foremen and field personnel to improve performance and career growth. Review and approve employee time records, production reports, and operational documentation. Coordinate equipment, vehicles, tools, and personnel resources to maximize efficiency. Communicate effectively with customers, utility representatives, property owners, contractors, and internal leadership. Investigate incidents, accidents, customer concerns, and operational issues and implement corrective actions. Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and workforce planning activities. Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, workforce allocation, and operational improvement initiatives. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in utility vegetation management, forestry, tree care, construction, or related field operations. Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience leading multiple crews and field personnel. Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. Demonstrated ability to lead large field operations and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and utility vegetation management safety requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Utility Specialist, CTSP, or equivalent industry certification. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B. Experience working on utility contracts and power line clearance projects. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. What to Expect The role combines field leadership, operational management, and administrative responsibilities. The general foreman will travel to multiple job sites, conduct crew meetings, review production and safety performance, address operational challenges, and coordinate with customers and company leadership. The position may require flexibility in work hours to support operational needs, emergency response efforts, storm restoration activities, and customer priorities. Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, and work outdoors for extended periods. Ability to travel frequently to project sites throughout Puerto Rico. Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and uneven terrain. Willingness to wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear. Ability to safely work around heavy equipment, utility infrastructure, moving mechanical parts, and active work zones. Commitment to following all company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
