About the role

Job Description: The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is seeking to hire a Full-time Junior Case Manager for our Miccosukee Tribal Court. The Junior Case Manager manages case files—including civil, criminal, juvenile, traffic, and animal ordinance matters—from inception to resolution. This role ensures total compliance with court mandates, referrals, and probationary terms. The ideal candidate will meticulously prepare files for hearings, coordinate with judicial officers, and maintain accurate documentation to support the legal process.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: • Case Management: Oversee assigned case files to ensure full compliance by all parties, tracking monthly deadlines and ensuring reports and evaluations are filed on time.• Judicial Coordination: Communicate directly with presiding judges regarding case statuses, pleadings, and file readiness for upcoming hearings or trials.• Document Preparation: Prepare legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, summaries, citation letters, and orders of attachment; coordinate reporting deadlines with agencies; proofread documents for accuracy and formatting; and verify all required attachments and enclosures before filing or distribution.• Internal Collaboration: Consult with the Legal Advisor on complex legal questions and collaborate with administrative staff to ensure seamless office operations.• Hearing Readiness: Audit files prior to hearings to verify that all required documentation—including witness lists, evidence, and evaluations—is present and organized.• Case File Management: Maintain electronic case filing systems by classifying, organizing, and filing correspondence, reports, and other case-related documents to ensure files remain current and cases progress timely.
Skills & Qualifications: • Legal Experience: Proven background working in the legal field with a solid understanding of the legal system, court terminology, and procedural principles.• Florida Notary: Must be an active Notary Public, insured and bonded by the State of Florida.• Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with judges, legal advisors, and external agencies.• Organization: Superior organizational and prioritization skills with a proactive approach to routine assignments.
