Hair Stylist Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Hair Stylist. Please note pay is based on experience and is not per hour, rather paid out every week. All tips are not shared and are 100% yours. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various hair styling techniques, including applying and mixing color, highlights, blowouts, flat iron, trims, Keratin hair treatment, and barbery. This role requires excellent customer service skills, effective communication abilities, ability to sell products, and a commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards. As a Hair Stylist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional hair care services while fostering a welcoming environment for clients, building relationships with clients, and continuing to develop your skills.
Duties:
Provide a range of hair styling services, including cuts, colors, and treatments tailored to individual client needs. Apply advanced techniques such as hair extensions, Keratin, and straight razor cuts. Utilize salon software for appointment scheduling and client management. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tools, workstations, and overall salon in accordance with industry standards. Educate clients on proper hair care techniques and recommend products for retail sales. Assist with front desk operations including greeting clients, answering inquiries, and managing appointments. Stay updated on the latest trends in hairstyling, makeup application, nail care, and eyelash extensions. Engage in upselling salon products and services to enhance the client experience.
Qualifications:
Valid cosmetology license as required by state regulations. Proficiency in hair styling techniques including color theory and retail math. Experience with scheduling appointment systems. Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to clients and team members. Ability to sell products to clients by recommending based on hair texture and upkeep. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. A passion for beauty trends and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
