Role Description:
The Alarm Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Huntsville-Decatur-Albertville Area. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining alarm and life safety systems, including low-voltage wiring, control panels, detectors, and related hardware. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting system issues, performing diagnostic tests, completing routine inspections, and documenting all work performed in accordance with company and industry standards. The Alarm Technician will respond to service calls, educate customers on system operation and basic maintenance, and coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely project completion. This role requires working in the field at customer locations, adhering to safety protocols, and delivering professional, courteous service in all interactions.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with Low Voltage Engineering and installation of low-voltage systems. Strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently. Hands-on experience with Alarm Systems and related security and monitoring equipment. Knowledge of Life Safety standards and practices, including fire and emergency systems. Effective Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally on-site. Basic understanding of electrical principles and ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals. Comfort working in varied environments (residential, commercial, and industrial) and using hand and power tools. High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in electronics, low voltage, or related field is preferred. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to customer sites within the Huntsville-Decatur-Albertville Area. Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting equipment, working on ladders, and standing for extended periods.
