Program Oversight Director📍 California-based | Contract / Independent Contractor We're seeking a Program Oversight Director to serve as the primary point of contact on a State of California contract oversight engagement supporting a major public program. This is a senior, client-facing oversight role — not a project management or operations position.
What you'll do:
- Lead executive-level oversight briefings and represent the engagement to the client
- Coordinate deliverable validation, financial oversight, and reporting across multiple vendor partners
- Serve as the escalation point for contractual risk and compliance issues
- Attend advisory committee and joint committee meetings in person
What you'll need:
- 5+ years of experience in program, contract, or operational oversight for government, multi-vendor, or regulated environments
- Proven experience tracking deliverables, identifying issues, and producing executive-level written findings
- Experience serving as a primary point of contact to executives, governance bodies, or regulators
- Must be based in California and available to work on-site/in-person for required meetings
- Experience with accessibility programs, disability-focused telecom, or public benefit programs is a strong plus
