Senior Software Engineer, AI & App Experience

Overview As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer on the Jade team, you will help build the tooling and infrastructure powering Chime’s AI-powered financial assistant. You’ll create scalable backend systems, evaluation pipelines, observability, and guardrails to keep AI experiences reliable for millions of members. You’ll work across the stack, from internal UIs to model routing and prompt management, enabling fast iteration and safe deployment. Compensation / Benefitsbonusequity package 401k matchmedical, dental, vision, life, disability benefitsgenerous vacationparental leave Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and scale backend implementations of the in-app Jade agent Lead tooling solutions for safe and confident feature rollouts Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address member pain points with secure, scalable solutions Improve reliability through performance tuning and architectural enhancements Contribute to technical design and uphold high code standards Participate in code reviews and mentor teammates Proactively learn and optimize technical systems Key requirements 5+ years of backend software development experience in production Experience with agent engineering Proficiency with AI tooling and AI-native development Proficiency with Python or comparable frameworks Experience with transactional databases (e.g., Postgres) and caching systems (e.g., Redis)Familiarity with architectural patterns in high-scale systems Strong focus on maintainable, well-tested code Drive to learn and dive deep into technical systems Bonus: fintech, security systems, or startup experiencecuriosity and initiativeability to collaborate across teamsmentoring others and raising the barAI tooling and AI-native development Python Postgres
