About the Role: We are looking for a hands-on Steam Turbine Field Service professional to take ownership of field service activities and help build a growing service organization. This is not a traditional management-only position. The successful candidate will initially operate as an individual contributor, working directly with customers and supporting steam turbine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and overhauls. As the business grows, this person will help recruit, develop and build a field service team underneath them. The ideal candidate has strong, recent hands-on steam turbine field service experience and is comfortable working independently before building and leading a team.
Key Responsibilities: Perform and/or technically support steam turbine maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and overhaul activities. Serve as the primary technical/customer contact for field service assignments. Travel to customer sites for inspections, outages, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities. Support turbine disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly and commissioning activities. Develop field service plans, schedules, manpower requirements and execution strategies. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and service partners as required. Develop customer relationships and participate directly in customer meetings and presentations. Support proposals, estimates, bids and business development activities. Identify opportunities for additional service work, repairs and upgrades. Ensure field activities comply with OSHA, HSE, quality and customer requirements. Maintain accurate field service reports, work orders and project documentation. Help establish service partners and subcontractor relationships as the business expands. As the order book grows, recruit and build a team of technical field advisors, turbine mechanics and support personnel. Develop training and processes for the growing field service organization. Manage both technical execution and the commercial/customer aspects of assigned work.
What We Are Looking For: Required10+ years of direct field service experience. Proven, verifiable experience working with steam turbines. Hands-on experience with steam turbine maintenance, repair and/or overhaul. Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving ability. Experience working directly at customer sites. Ability to work independently and take ownership of field assignments. Strong customer communication and presentation skills. Experience working with rotating equipment and/or power generation equipment. Willingness to travel extensively as business and customer requirements develop. Strong understanding of safety, HSE and field-service procedures. Highly PreferredExperience with both union and non-union crews. Class A contractor license or demonstrable ability to meet Class A licensing requirements. Experience with major steam turbine OEM equipment. Experience managing subcontractors and service partners. Experience preparing estimates, proposals, bids or service scopes. Business development or account-growth experience. Spanish language skills.
Important: Hands-On Experience RequiredWe are specifically looking for candidates who are currently or recently hands-on with steam turbine field service work. Candidates whose recent experience is primarily management, administration or team supervision without current technical/field involvement will not be the right fit. You should be comfortable starting as an individual contributor, personally supporting customer projects and field activities, and then building a team around yourself as the business grows. Growth OpportunityThis position offers the opportunity to help build the field service organization from the ground up. Initially, you will be responsible for technical field service, customer relationships, business generation, service partners and project execution. As the order book develops, you will have the opportunity to recruit and develop your own field service team.
