Capital Projects Engineer (PE) | Municipal Infrastructure, Water & Wastewater Big projects. Growing communities. Infrastructure that actually makes a difference. We're connecting with experienced Professional Engineers (PEs) interested in municipal infrastructure, public works, water and wastewater systems, environmental engineering, structural engineering, and capital improvement projects throughout the Tri-Cities region. Whether your background is in municipal government, engineering consulting, utilities, environmental services, or large-scale infrastructure development, we'd love to connect! We're building relationships with engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, managing meaningful projects, and helping communities develop the infrastructure they need for the future. From water treatment facilities and wastewater infrastructure to roads, bridges, public facilities, and multimillion-dollar capital improvements, these opportunities offer the chance to apply your engineering expertise to projects that directly impact the communities around you. We're particularly interested in engineers with experience in one or more of the following areas: Capital Improvement Projects (CIP): Planning, designing, budgeting, coordinating, and delivering municipal infrastructure improvements from concept through construction. Water & Wastewater Engineering: Water treatment, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, distribution systems, collection systems, pipelines, and utility infrastructure. Environmental Engineering: Water quality, environmental compliance, permitting, wastewater systems, stormwater management, and sustainable infrastructure. Civil & Municipal Engineering: Public works infrastructure, roadway improvements, site development, stormwater systems, utilities, and municipal construction projects. Structural Engineering: Structural design, analysis, evaluation, rehabilitation, and construction support for bridges, public buildings, water infrastructure, and other municipal facilities. Engineering Project Management: Consultant oversight, contractor coordination, construction administration, capital budgets, scheduling, and multidisciplinary project delivery. Depending on your background and the opportunity, responsibilities may include: Lead or support municipal engineering and capital improvement projects from initial planning through design, construction, and completion. Design, evaluate, and improve water, wastewater, stormwater, structural, and other public infrastructure systems. Develop engineering specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, project schedules, and construction documents. Manage capital budgets, project expenditures, consultant agreements, and contractor performance. Review engineering designs, drawings, calculations, permits, and technical documentation for compliance with applicable standards. Coordinate with public works departments, municipal leadership, regulatory agencies, engineering consultants, and contractors. Support environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, infrastructure planning, and system improvements. Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, operational efficiency, public safety, and long-term asset performance. Provide technical guidance, problem-solving, and project leadership throughout planning, design, construction, and commissioning.
