Chief Underwriting Officer - Lifecor Lifecor is a startup technology-driven life insurance carrier in formation, initially focused on term and final expense products. We are building a company that sits at the intersection of insurance, technology, underwriting, distribution, data, and capital while assembling the small group of people who will define what Lifecor becomes. The underwriting opportunity is enormous. We are approaching underwriting as a core part of the entire insurance model: how risk is identified, how applicants move through the process, how data is used, how products are designed, how distribution is approached, how reinsurance is structured, and ultimately how quickly and effectively Lifecor can place coverage. The Chief Underwriting Officer will have the ability to help design and execute that underwriting model while earning meaningful ownership in the company. You should be capable of: Designing underwriting strategy and risk frameworks Building modern application and underwriting processes Using data to improve risk selection and decisioning Working directly across product, distribution, actuarial, technology, and reinsurance Developing automated and accelerated underwriting approaches Recruiting exceptionally talented underwriting people Taking complete ownership of the underwriting organization You will have direct responsibility for Lifecor’s underwriting strategy, application process, risk selection, decisioning framework, underwriting organization, and execution as the company scales. Lifecor is not yet capitalized, so this role currently offers no cash compensation; meaningful equity is available, and if you are not willing to work for equity until we are funded, do not apply.
