Primary Location: Position will start in either Ohio or Alabama or Arkansas (multiple ongoing projects)**Salary position with Weekly per diem (GSA-based; minimum ~$1,250/week)$2,000/month travel allowance (for return trips home if non-local every month)Must have your own vehicle but there will be a generous stipend Must be open to travel 90% - all travel expenses paid for Opportunity to support major mission-critical construction projects with a leading mechanical contractor Candidates must be comfortable supporting construction projects across the USA with trips home ideally once per month. This is a direct hire salary position to support projects across the US.Construction Safety Professional We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Professional to support a large-scale hyperscale data center build for a leading mechanical contractor. This role is 100% project-based and field-focused, supporting active construction operations and working directly with craft professionals, superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors. This is not a corporate EHS or manufacturing safety role. We are specifically looking for professionals with hands-on construction jobsite safety experience who are comfortable working in the field and partnering with operations to ensure work is performed safely.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain a strong daily field presence on active construction sites. Conduct site safety walks, hazard assessments, safety observations, and compliance audits. Lead toolbox talks, pre-task planning meetings, and safety meetings with craft personnel. Review JHAs, Pre-Task Plans, and permit-controlled work. Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions. Identify hazards, assess risk, and implement effective mitigation strategies. Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and employee engagement. Partner with superintendents, project managers, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure safe work execution. Support implementation of site-specific safety plans and critical risk management initiatives. Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety requirements, and company safety standards. Monitor high-risk construction activities including: Crane and rigging operations Mechanical equipment installationHVAC, piping, and plumbing systems Confined space entry Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)Hot work Work at heights Excavation and trenching
Required Experience: Construction safety experience required. Experience supporting large commercial, industrial, mission-critical, power generation, utility, heavy civil, EPC, or data center construction projects. Comfortable working in the field with craft workers, subcontractors, and project leadership. Experience supporting multi-contractor construction environments. Experience conducting safety observations, audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions. Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards, hazard identification, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with field personnel and promote a positive safety culture. Experience partnering with project leadership to continuously improve safety performance and reduce incident rates.
Preferred Experience: Experience supporting mechanical construction projects involving HVAC, piping, plumbing, process piping, or mechanical equipment installation. Experience on large-scale data center, semiconductor, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing construction, power generation, or heavy industrial projects. Experience coordinating safety activities across multiple subcontractors on complex construction sites.
Preferred Certifications: CHST, CSP, ASP, GSP, STSC, or other BCSP safety certifications. OSHA 500 or OSHA 510.OSHA 30 Construction. Candidates without certifications may still be considered with strong construction safety experience.
