Responsibilities:
*Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and biomechanical evaluations, to determine appropriate prosthetic or orthotic interventions. Design, fit, adjust, and troubleshoot custom orthopedic devices such as prostheses and orthoses, ensuring optimal functionality and comfort. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized treatment plans that align with patient goals and clinical best practices. Educate patients on device usage, maintenance, and care to promote independence and confidence in their mobility solutions. Maintain strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies while documenting patient progress, device specifications, and treatment outcomes accurately. Stay current with advancements in biomechanics, physiology, and medical terminology through continuing medical education (CME) training to enhance clinical expertise. Provide direct patient care in a compassionate manner that emphasizes patient service, safety, and satisfaction throughout the entire treatment process. *
Requirements:
*Certification as a Prosthetist/Orthotist from an accredited professional organization. Post-residency experience in pediatrics or general orthotics/prosthetics is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and medical terminology relevant to orthotic and prosthetic care. Proven ability to perform detailed client communication and conduct physical assessments with precision. Experience with orthopedic devices including the fitting and adjustment of prostheses and orthoses. Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies, aseptic techniques, and physical examinations standards. Ability to work collaboratively within an interprofessional healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
