Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to asignificant educational end. They should strive to employ avariety of techniques for the development of good learningconditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofaras it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests. An adjunct professor for the Department of Community Care and Counseling will be responsible for the administration, facilitation, and teaching of classes of approx. 14-25 onlinestudents from around the country. This job entails daily internetinteraction with students pursuing a graduate degree in the fieldsof Marriage & Family Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Adjunct Professors will perform administrative tasks, interact withstudents through grading and interactive forums, and buildrelationships while under the supervision of Online Instructional Mentors. Other responsibilities include: Teaching material from approved curriculum in accordance withassigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction. Assisting students in achieving completion of objectives andlearning outcomes. Providing regular and timely feedback to students. Advising students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors. Motivating students to actively participate in all aspects of theeducational process. Maintaining and reporting student grades and attendance inaccordance with university policies. Other duties may be assigned as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy or relatedfield.
- Professional license in Marriage and Family Therapy
- Candidates will demonstrate knowledge of their field andapplication of current marriage and family therapy practices.
- Previous experience with online learning management systems and
- Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of faith integration and biblical concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
AAMFT Approved Supervisor:
- Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related degreefrom a COAMFTE-accredited program.
- Candidates should have experience teaching in higher education, with preference given to those who have taught in the onlineenvironment.
- A strong professional identity as a Marriage and Family
- Therapist, demonstrated through advanced credentialing, certifications, presentations, publications, and service to theprofession.
- Experience working with the Canvas learning managementsystem.
