Pharmacy Senior Technician/UKHC - Specialty Operations - ELIGIBLE FOR RECRUITMENT BONUS

Work Location: Lexington, KYGrade Level - 07 Salary Range - $18.50-27.31/hour

Required Education: HSRequired Related Experience - 1 yrRequired License/Registration/Certification - Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements: This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).

Shift: Shift is a rotating shift currently working between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday thru Friday. Hours, rotation schedule, and operating days of the week may change based on the needs of the department. Position participates in holiday rotation shift with other Ambulatory Pharmacy Services.

Job Summary: This position will provide a variety of specialty pharmacy services including obtaining prior authorizations, enrolling patients' in financial support programs, mail order tracking and drug inventory management, and coordinating first time dispenses and refills for specialty medications prescribed within UK HealthCare. You will work closely with nurses, physicians, and UK Specialty Pharmacy staff to improve access to medications for a variety of sub specialty disease states. This position is eligible for a recruitment bonus. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process should your application be selected to move forward. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate's experience.
