Manager - Quality Assurance | Steel

Job Description: Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers, Product Metallurgists, and technical staff Oversee quality assurance activities for sheet steel products and customer requirements Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, process performance, and operational excellence Manage product disposition, quality reviews, and corrective actions Ensure proper order setup and coordination of product-related activities across manufacturing operations Support new product development initiatives within automotive, energy, and service center markets Oversee ERP-related activities associated with order management and product processing Partner with manufacturing, operations, technical, and commercial teams to resolve product quality issues Develop and implement short- and long-term quality and product strategies Evaluate, mentor, and develop technical personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and performance Maintain compliance with quality management systems and customer specificationsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical field preferred 6+ years of experience within steel manufacturing or a heavy industrial environment 3+ years of quality assurance or quality management experience Previous leadership or management experience required Experience working within Quality Management Systems (QMS)Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product quality, and continuous improvement methodologies Excellent communication and leadership skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing information systems
