Senior Retail Sales Associate – Musical Instruments & Lessons

Music & Arts seeks a part-time Senior Sales Associate to drive sales and exceptional customer service in our retail store. You’ll guide students, parents, and educators in selecting band and orchestra instruments, rentals, accessories, and lessons that fit their needs and budget. Responsibilities include consultative selling, lesson enrollment, POS transactions, merchandising, inventory support, and maintaining product knowledge. You’ll model best practices, help train team members, and support community events, all while contributing to a collaborative, student-focused store culture that advances music education. Provide consultative sales for instruments, rentals, accessories, and lessons Deliver high-level customer service to students, parents, and educators Process sales, rentals, returns, and lesson enrollments at POS Maintain product knowledge of band, orchestra instruments, and accessories Support merchandising, stocking, and inventory organization Assist in training and mentoring junior sales associates Promote in-store events and educational programs to the community Meet or exceed individual and store sales goals Handle customer issues and returns in a professional manner Uphold store standards for cleanliness, presentation, and safety Retail sales Customer service Point-of-sale (POS) systems Instrument and accessory product knowledge Lesson enrollment management Merchandising Inventory control Cash handling and reconciliation Upselling and cross-selling Basic computer skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Background in music performance, education, or retail strongly preferred Knowledge of band and orchestra instruments Basic POS and retail operations familiarity
