Sr Software Engineer

Overview In this role you will triage, design, and implement features and fixes for the Connetic payments platform. You’ll work within the product engineering team focusing on customer issues and platform enhancements, delivering end-to-end resolutions across a distributed Java/Spring Boot microservices stack. You’ll engage with various teams to diagnose outages, reduce recurring defects, and push for systemic improvements. Compensation / Benefitsgrowth opportunitiescareer developmentcompetitive compensationcollaborative work environment Responsibilities Diagnose and fix production defects across a distributed Java/Spring Boot microservices platform Own issues end to end from reproduction to deployed fix, coordinating with feature teams Triage issues by severity and business impact, escalating as needed Join incident bridges and provide diagnostics and resolution guidance Coordinate across Product Management, Professional Services, Operations, and scrum teams Identify recurring defect patterns and advocate for systemic fixes with feature teams Contribute to support function improvements, rotation models, and operational standards Independently design, develop, test and deliver high-quality software, providing estimates to leads/managers Research and resolve system software problems adhering to internal standards Maintain detailed knowledge of software, networks, and dependencies Provide guidance and subject-matter expertise to the development organization Perform other duties as assigned Adhere to corporate policies including Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Key requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent software development experience 5+ years of software engineering or production support experience Strong debugging and troubleshooting in distributed systems Proficiency in Java and experience with microservices architectures Ability to read, understand, and modify code across unfamiliar services Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences Comfort working on multiple issues with varying urgency Self-directed and able to operate with ambiguity Clear written and verbal communication Cross-functional collaboration Ability to work with ambiguity Java with microservices Distributed systems debugging Kubernetes (preferred)
