About the role
Data Engineer – RemoteRemote | Full-time | Data Engineering We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing data team and help build the pipelines, models and infrastructure that power data-driven decision making across a global travel business. You’ll be working with large, complex datasets across bookings, customer interactions, pricing, digital platforms and third-party APIs, helping create a reliable and scalable data environment that supports everything from personalisation and forecasting to operational optimisation and customer experience.
What you’ll be doing:
Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across internal and external data sources.
Integrate data from booking platforms, mobile applications, CRM systems, customer service tools, web analytics and third-party APIs.
Work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Product teams to understand requirements and deliver reliable, high-quality datasets.
Develop and optimise data models and schemas within modern cloud data warehouses.
Build data quality checks, monitoring and processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Support real-time data pipelines and streaming for use cases such as pricing, inventory and customer interactions.
Contribute to data governance, privacy and compliance across the data environment.
Help shape and improve the wider data engineering architecture and practices.
What we’re looking for:
4+ years’ experience in Data Engineering, backend data development or data integration.
Strong SQL skills and experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java or Scala.
Experience working with AWS, GCP or Azure.
Experience with modern data engineering technologies such as Airflow, dbt, Kafka, IDMC or similar.
Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modelling and pipeline architecture.
Experience working with large and varied datasets and building reliable data products.
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
Nice to have:
Experience within travel, hospitality or another complex transactional environment.
Familiarity with travel data, booking systems or industry standards.
Experience supporting personalisation, predictive analytics or recommendation systems.
Experience integrating APIs and third-party platforms.
Exposure to real-time data processing and streaming architectures.
