Relocation Assistance: None available at this timeRemote/Telework: NO - Not available for this positionClearance Type: SecretShift: Day ShiftTravel Required: Up to 10% of the timeThe NORAD Operations Division, as the prime contractor on the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract 3 (NISSC 3), provides: Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space. Mitigation of orbital conflicts. Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities. Operations and maintenance of classified communications. Software development and integration. Supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at: Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska Vandenberg Space Force Base, California Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the worldDescription of Duties: TheSoftware Engineer Leadsupports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II(NISSC 3). The candidate will: Lead software engineering teams in the design, development, and delivery of reliable mission software that meets customer requirements Have experience developing and integrating full-stack applications and familiarity with containerization technology. Maintain high standards of code quality, security, and testing throughout the software development lifecycle. Collaborate closely with product owners, scrum-masters, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to translate operational needs into clear, actionable technical plans. Advocate for and implement modern development practices, including automation, DevSecOps principles, and robust CI/CD pipelines. Mentor and support junior software developers, fostering professional growth and skill development. Understand cybersecurity principles and compliance requirements relevant to mission or enterprise systems. Ability to balance hands‑on development with strategic leadership responsibilities This position will be filled and work onsite atChidlaw Building and Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO This position is expected to pay$170,000-$185,000annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
Basic Requirements: Experience with ITW/AA or the NISSC II contract within the past year
Clearance: Active Secret Required Must have AT Level II Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) 12 years or more of general work experience 10 years or more of directly related experience as a Software Developer Experience leading software development teams Experience mentoring junior software developers Experience developing technical solutions to meet defined requirements Detailed understanding of containers, and experience containerizing applications Experience working within an Agile development team and completing tasks on time
Desired Requirements: Experience migrating monolithic applications to a microservices architecture Experience in Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration Environments. Experience working within a VMware Tanzu environment. Compensation Details: $170,000-$185,000 The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good‑faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
