Speech-Language Pathology AssistantRSU 3 is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our student-centered special education team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in achieving their communication goals through individual and small-group therapy services. Responsibilities include providing speech and language therapy services to students as directed by a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist, implementing therapy activities and interventions outlined in student treatment plans and IEPs, delivering individual and small-group therapy sessions, collecting and documenting data regarding student performance and progress, assisting in preparing therapy materials and maintaining therapy resources, supporting students in developing speech, language, social communication, and functional communication skills, collaborating with teachers, educational technicians, special education staff, and related service providers, participating in team meetings and professional consultations as appropriate, maintaining strict confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with state and federal regulations, assisting with screenings, observations, and other activities as directed by the supervising SLP, and fostering positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Qualifications include an associate's or bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field, current Maine certification/licensure requirements for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants, or ability to obtain required credentials, experience working with children and/or students with diverse learning and communication needs preferred, strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and current CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) or ability to obtain.
