Senior Manager of Product Design, AI Platform

Overview In this role you will lead the design of Rippling’s AI Platform, shaping how AI features appear across the product suite. You will coach designers, balance craft with strategy, and collaborate with product, engineering, and research to deliver coherent, trustworthy AI experiences. You’ll define reusable patterns for agents, human-in-the-loop flows, and explainability, guiding cross-product consistency. This is a chance to influence enterprise AI at scale in a widely adopted platform. Compensation / Benefitscompetitive salarybenefitsequityoffice-based collaboration policy Responsibilities Lead Product Design for AI Platform and shape interaction models, UX patterns, and design principles across Rippling’s AI experiences Coach and develop designers in ambiguous, high-leverage platform spaces Define reusable interaction patterns for agents, generated UI, approvals, trust, explainability, and error recovery Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate AI opportunities into shippable experiences Drive cross-product alignment for consistent, permission-aware AI experiences across HR, IT, Finance, workflows, and admin surfaces Leverage insights from customers, data, and competitive analysis to identify high-leverage design opportunities Establish design reviews, pattern adoption, quality control, and cross-functional decision processes Support talent attraction and development for Product Design and AI Platform Key requirements 10+ years of product design experience in complex B2B, enterprise SaaS, platform, or AI/product environments 3+ years of product design management experience Strong systems thinking and ability to connect surfaces, workflows, permissions, and dependencies Proven ability to create scalable design-system primitives and reusable patterns Fluency with AI product challenges: model uncertainty, trust, explainability, human-in-the-loop decisions, feedback loops Strong cross-functional leadership with Product, Engineering, Research, GTM, CX, and executives Exceptional storytelling and communication to align multi-team decisions Portfolio or body of work showing impact, craft, and leadership through ambiguitycross-functional leadershipstrong storytelling and communicationability to work in ambiguous environmentsdesign systems and pattern librariesAI UX design principles (trust, explainability, human-in-the-loop)interaction patterns for agents and generated UI
